Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machine while they lift and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap method for transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right option.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machinery designed specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which could function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
