Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Among the most popular cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are utilized to construct everything from buildings and skyscrapers to roadways and freeway overpasses.
There is a large variety of crane models, styles and sizes available on the market. There are many different types in order to serve a variety of different reasons in the business. Choosing the best type of crane is essential for making sure that the material can be safely and efficiently transported to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to start.
Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are extremely helpful for building locations where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be easily driven from one location to another.
Cranes could also be transported to different construction locations on the road because they drive themselves, which eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really lessens transport costs at the end of the day.
One drawback of a truck crane is that it is not stable enough sitting on tires alone in order to be able to lift the major loads that a hydraulic crane can handle. Therefore, in order to fix this problem, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the base of the crane. These huge tracks are very similar to backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks enable the crane to successfully move around a construction site.
