When the time comes to select the suitable warehouse truck, it is a great idea to figure out how high you intend to raise your loads, how much you need to raise, how much space you need to work in and how far you would like to travel. These considerations would influence your buying decision and help decipher what forklift truck is the best one out there to suit your needs and meet your whole expectations.
Normal Aisles
Pedestrian stackers are the most economical because these equipment are best utilized in normal width aisles and can complete ordinary warehouse stacking jobs. They can easily raise cargo of less than 750kg and could stack them to heights of roughly 4.5 metres. A different model called rider stackers can successfully lift cargo to roughly 6 metres.
Reach trucks are yet a different choice to consider. They give you much greater lift and load capacities and several models come complete with telescopic forks. This characteristic allows you the ability to stack pallets two deep. For added flexibility in handling goods, there is a 4-way and a multi-way reach truck which as the name implies, can be driven in four directions. These models are particularly suitable for handling long and bulky items like planks, boards and piping.
The counterbalance line of trucks is suitable for traveling longer distances. They are a good alternative for stacking jobs, specially block stacking. They are also an ideal option for stacking loads which weigh more than 2 tonnes and free stacking.
A Tight Squeeze
If you are working in a high-density storage operation, the aisle space would usually be much narrower and the heights you would want to reach to would likely be much higher. Man-up telescopic lift trucks function great in narrow aisle, high-bay stores. They offer the driver or operator a good view of the stacking process. There are other types referred to as man-up combi trucks. These are fairly versatile in that they could be utilized for both order- picking and stacking tasks. They can be driven all over the warehouse or utilized in narrow aisles.
