Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with different units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and normally use specific guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks can work within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized in storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is very big and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat along with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
