Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
So as to prevent possible serious injury, specific safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
