Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment that allow work to be completed effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the machine and its parts. System diagnostics are offered in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 unit. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. Also, it carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds enhanced traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 only offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit include coordinated, crab, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machine more agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features truly make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to utilize on irregular terrain.
Although these units are larger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with incredible reach and range of motion. The Z-boom design gives the models exceptional up and over positioning capability which ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously engineered device utilized for extending and retracting axles out and in of stowed position. When the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is just 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
