Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, as the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Because of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers all around the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
The Bi-Energy and DC machines offered by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are great for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machines provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
